As an extension to our ‘Cancellations for All’ main report and supporting document which was supported by Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN) and released on Global Accessibility Awareness Day this year, Centre for Accessibility Australia is thrilled to introduce the ‘Cancellations for All’ Companion Report.

The companion report covers three main issues encountered when ordering and signing up for SIMs from the 44 telecommunication providers initially identified. Alongside this, the report identifies space for improvements with regards to accessibility within the industry, covering the issues of postal address accuracy, early activation, and identity requirements.

The additional challenges listed in this companion report are critical to ensuring accessibility for everyone. This is in line with state and federal governments transforming and digitising their interactions with the public. Hence, it is more crucial than ever to guarantee the independence and accessibility of mobile communications for people with disability.

As a precursor to this companion report, the ‘Cancellations for All’ main report and supporting document also includes critical information on the accessibility of cancelling mobile SIM services for people with disability.
