Web and App Accessibility: Essentials and Quick Wins
This half-day workshop provides a basic overview of accessibility concepts and how it applies to different organisational roles.
Escaping the Accessibility Island
This popular one-day workshop is designed for staff across your organisation to learn how people with disability will engage with your content. It includes hands-on experience, using devices in a similar way to people with disability. It will also feature an overview of the WCAG 2.2 accessibility standard and practical information for a variety of organisational roles including ICT professionals, content producers, policy officers and staff in marketing and communications areas.
Document Accessibility Essentials
This half-day workshop highlights the accessibility requirements in creating documents using the Microsoft Office/365 Suite focusing on Word and PowerPoint. It includes a hands-on document accessibility remediation workshop.
Document Accessibility Cross-Platform
This full-day workshop focuses on the accessibility features in the Microsoft Office/365 Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and InDesign. The workshop features practical, hands-on guidance and remediation techniques on how to make content accessible.
Digital Accessibility: From Audit to Implementation
This two-day workshop for ICT professionals provides detailed guidance on how people with disability use websites and apps; specific practical guidance on the WCAG 2.2 standard relating to web and app development; auditing tools and techniques to confirm if your content is compliant and how to maximise your time when working on accessibility requirements such as captioning a video.
Plain and Easy English Language
People with intellectual and cognitive disability are often overlooked in the pursuit of website accessibility. There is often confusion between ‘Plain’ and ‘Easy’ English language usage. This half-day workshop includes information to support Plain language, which optimises writing to all audiences, and provide guidance on Easy English, which provides support to people with low literacy, and cognitive and/or intellectual disability. All resources are based on language support within the WCAG 2.2 guidelines as well as the Plain Language ISO 24495-1 standard, of which CFA Australia was directly involved in the development.
Accessibility in Hybrid Content Delivery: Face-to-Face and Online
In the post COVID-19 era, it has become essential for the delivery of accessible content whether it be face-to-face, hybrid or online. This half-day workshop will equip your organisation with useful resources to ensure that everyone in your organisation can deliver an accessible presentation or meeting regardless of the environment. The workshop includes guidance on how to make face-to-face, hybrid, and remote delivery of online meetings and presentations accessible for all. This includes guidance on accessible meeting platforms to ensure your digital content works effectively, as well as how to make web interfaces as accessible as possible.
Digital Access Management Overview
This half-day workshop is designed specifically for managers and decision-makers to help kickstart the implementation of access in your organisation.
E-learning Accessibility
Specifically catered for the education sector, this one-day workshop focuses on accessibility features within Learning Management System (LMS) platforms. This includes guidance on how users with disability will specifically use LMS platforms and how they will engage with LMS content. This workshop will also support the upskilling of staff on how to ensure that future LMS content is developed and published with accessibility in mind. Specific guidance will be provided based on your own LMS platform requirements.
Disability support
This full-day workshop is designed for organisations especially those in the not-for-profit and aged care sectors that are seeking guidance on how to specifically cater for the digital access needs of people with a disability. Content includes how people with a disability access an organisation, ranging from how they use assistive technology, key policy requirements, how you can ensure your website and communication is effective and accessible to maximise support for individualised choices.
NDIS provider essentials
This half-day workshop focuses specifically on how organisations registered as a NDIS provider or providing services to participants on the Scheme can effectively comply with policies and support in meeting the needs of people with disability. This workshop covers topics ranging from digital access, accessible service agreements, effective communication, and marketing strategies, how people with a disability will interact with your website and digital communications, how to ensure that people with a disability keep informed with your service delivery information, explaining NDIS terminology (e.g. reasonable and necessary supports) and how service delivery itself can maximise digital access and inclusion.
Accessible Worship
Religious organisations need to ensure that their congregations can read words on the screen and share content in meetings. This half-day workshop specifically focuses on the accessibility issues likely to be faced inside religious organisations and how to address them.
Motivational Speaking
If you are seeking a motivational talk that may inspire the creation of a more inclusive world for your next function, look no further. Delivered by Dr. Scott Hollier, the CEO of CFA Australia and Australia of the Year finalist, this talk will encompass any topic around digital accessibility. A popular topic has been: “Digital Access: Where We’ve Been and Where We’re Going”, where Dr. Hollier speaks about the emergence of new technologies such as the internet of things, online collaborations, and artificial intelligence (AI), and what the future holds for people with disability.
