Named an Innovation Award Honouree in the Software and Mobile Apps category at this year’s Consumer Electronic Show (CES) that started off this year, in Las Vegas, FACIL’iti has launched MYDys, a new dyslexia solutions app.
FACIL’iti, a pioneer in assistive tech known for adapting websites for seniors and people with disability has released a free app aimed at children and adults that is one of a kind.
MYdys uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and Augmented Realities (AR) technologies which enable users to customise captured textual content from a variety of mediums. Once users have done this, they can adapt it to suit their needs.
People with dyslexia will be able to utilize this app in their everyday life, anywhere they are and on the go. From taking a picture of a menu to filling out applications, and from any medium – websites, books, signage, etc, it is a simple, pain-free, and practical solution.
Personalised features include:
- Adjustable font size.
- Voice synthesis of text.
- Colour coding of inverted letters and numbers (such as “9 and 6” or “d and b”)
- Compatibility with complex alphabets including Latin and Russian.
- Translation of over 20 languages.
Once the user primarily sets up their customization, they are saved for future use in their devices, ensuring the “1-Click” configuration is simple and usable in real time.
30 scans per month will be available to all users on the free version, with further options available for paid subscriptions.
Users are able to download the app from the Apple App store currently and in February 2023 it will be available for download from the Google Play Store.
