The California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Assistive Technology Conference has once again taken place, in San Diego, with a tonne of accessibility tech on showcase.
We at the Centre for Accessibility Australia took a closer look at what the lineup was this year, and amidst all the things on offer, one exciting thing that Sony unveiled was the Retina Projection Camera Kit.
Known as the “DSC-HX99 RNV kit,” this will greatly benefit people who are blind or with low vision. Teaming up with QD Laser Co, the setup of the new Sony innovation lets the camera project straight on to the retina, employing laser retinal projection. This allows users to experience a vivid, sharper image.
Not only does this open possibilities for users who are blind or with low vision, but also new possibilities for visual exploration generally.
