On August 13th, 2024, Centre for Accessibility Australia (CFA Australia) led a workshop on digital accessibility in the workplace, held at Rydges Kalgoorlie.

The event, titled “Inclusion Matters! Digital Accessibility in the Workplace,” aimed to educate attendees on creating inclusive and accessible digital platforms.

Dr. Scott Hollier, CEO of CFA Australia and a renowned expert in digital accessibility, led the presentation. Drawing from his extensive knowledge and personal experience with disability, Dr. Hollier emphasised the importance of making digital content accessible to everyone.

Throughout the workshop, participants explored various aspects of digital accessibility, including best practices, tools, and techniques for ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. A practical exercise using an assistive technology tool provided valuable insights into creating user-friendly digital assets.

The event was successfully coordinated by Yen Nguyen, and photography by Senior Digital Media Co-Ordinator Nicholas Kapirnas, with appreciation extended to the Department of Communities WA, for their sponsorship.

Stay tuned for future workshops and events focused on promoting digital accessibility and inclusion!
