On October 28, Dr. Scott Hollier and Bryan Benjamin presented findings and insights on the “Cancellations for All” report, shedding light on accessibility issues in the telecommunications sector. The report, supported by the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN), revealed challenges people with disability face when canceling mobile services.

These challenges include difficulties with identification checks, pre-SIM activation, and address form field complexities. The report provides an in-depth analysis of 44 SIM providers’ support for consumers with disability, highlighting areas for improvement.

Attendees at the presentation learned about practical steps for improvement, as well as essential guidelines for inclusive digital content, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Additionally, the discussion covered consumer engagement with SIM providers, offering valuable insights into enhancing accessibility.
