OneCourt, a Seattle-based startup, has developed innovative technology that translates live sports gameplay into vibrations and audio commentary.
This new system allows fans who are blind and low-vision fans to experience live sports in real-time, enhancing their engagement and enjoyment. The technology uses real-time data from professional sports leagues to generate trackable vibrations and audio descriptions. This allows fans to follow the action on the field or court, including plays, scores, and player movements.
OneCourt has already partnered with the Portland Trail Blazers to offer its technology at every home game. The company plans to expand to other stadiums and arenas across the US, before making its technology available for home use.
