Apple has rolled out its Music Haptics feature to all users as part of iOS 18, enhancing useability for listeners who are hard of hearing.
The feature uses the iPhone’s Taptic Engine to create vibrations and textures synchronised with music, allowing users to feel the audio.
Music Haptics is available on iPhone 12 and later devices updated to iOS 18. It works with Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, Shazam, and select third-party apps connected to Wi-Fi or cellular networks.
To experience Music Haptics, users can enable the feature in the Accessibility settings menu. A logo will appear on the Now Playing screen in Apple Music, allowing users to pause or resume with a tap.
Apple Music has also released special playlists, such as Haptics Beats and Haptics Bass, optimised for the haptic technology.
