London’s iconic music venue, The Roundhouse, is set to become the first in the city to implement a digital navigation aid for attendees who are blind or with low vision. The innovative technology, called NaviLens, utilizes QR codes and a free app to provide real-time audio navigation assistance in multiple languages ¹.
This recent move is part of The Roundhouse’s commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that its spaces are accessible to everyone. The venue has already tested NaviLens with the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) and Victa, and the feedback has been invaluable in shaping the technology’s development.
NaviLens CEO Javier Pita expressed his excitement about collaborating with The Roundhouse, stating that their mission is to create a world where everyone can access the information they need to enjoy cultural, social, and educational experiences.
With NaviLens, users will be able to navigate The Roundhouse’s main music venue, Roundhouse Works, and creative studios independently.
