In October 2025, Microsoft will be ending support for its Windows 10 operating system.
While for many this will prompt an upgrade, here at Centre for Accessibility Australia (CFA Australia) we can make use of old computers to help people with disability.
Although official Windows 10 support is ending, we have the ability in many instances to refurbish computers and bring together old computer parts to create new computers that can support the latest assistive technologies needed by people with disability for everyday use.
So, if you’re looking for a new home for your old computer, please consider donating it to us.
We accept everything from one-off laptops or desktop computers through to large scale volumes of enterprise workstations.
Even PC’s older than those running Windows 10 can be useful.
If you would like to get in touch to pass on your old computer, please contact admin@accessibility.org.au and we can provide postal or delivery information.
